NEW CONTROL UNIT
The control unit is provided with backlight silicon rubber keys easy-to-read and touch-effect which allows the regulation of the steering and navigation parameters, as well as the activating of various pilot functions, while the course can be set with a knob and the two arrow keys respectively by five degress each click and one degree at a time. The large LCD display 80×60 mm. is able to visualize all the most important data such as real course, the rudder, the course with respect to the ground (COG) and the true speed (SOG).
The exclusive “True Course” function calculates the offset due to leeway or drift, correcting it in totally automatic mode.
ALWAYS GREAT PERFORMANCE
The precise control of the rudder is suitable to any kind of craft permetting the autopilot to be installed, with excellent results, even on crafts with higher speeds (50 knots and above). The connection between the various components is composed of a single cable, so it is easy to install. A system of self-monitoring verify continuously the electronic functioning by indicating promptly the lack of signals or the need of adjustments.
FLUXGATE WITH AUTOMATIC COMPENSATION
A sophisticated program automatically compensates the electronic compass by simply turning the craft round through 360 degrees. This allows the pilot compass to keep very close to the values of
the ordinary steering compass. In addition, a sophisticated sensor, “Gyronav”, allows more precise control even in bad sea conditions or at elevated latitudes where the reading of the earth magnetic field may be difficult.
The possibility of using a control station identical to the main one allows the pilot to be controlled easily from the upper deck of the craft.
NEW FUNCTIONS AND ACCESSORIES
Compared to the previous systems, a follow-up function is available with a course knob and the turn course function of 180°, 360° and 2×360°. Moreover, it may be provided with an expansion card for different applications. The AP 3003 gold can be completely interfaced with different equipment’s such as gyro-compass,”Rate Gyro”, chart plotter by using both the communication protocols NMEA 0183 and the latest NMEA 2000. A wide range of accessories such as tillers, follow-up, rudder angle indicators, remote stations and some others contribute to making the AP 3003 gold suitable to any type of need.
